How much does a Web site cost?

There are a few factors that are will affect the cost of your Web site. These factors include turn-around time required, how many pages you plan to have, if you sell products through the web site, level of graphic work involved, how interactive you feel the site should be. Along with this is the Web site maintenance, Web hosting and domain name registration, if needed and is billed yearly.

Do I need to hire a “local” Web site designer?

Seo Smooth Design creates websites for clients who are local as well as worldwide. By using the Internet, email and the telephone, it is possible to communicate effectively with clients in any location. Also you may prefer to meet in person and we provide this in the New England and New York City areas.

How long does it take to have a web site designed?

The time frame is determined by the size and amount of content of your web site, the complexity of your site design, our current client and your turn-around needs.

What is a URL?

A URL, or “universal resource locator”, is the address typed in to view your Web page on the Internet. For example, you would type in http://www.seosmooth.com which forwards to our real URL, but is shorter for you to access our home page.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a single Web site address that you choose and register with your registrar. Some popular registrars include GoDaddy and Network Solutions. At Seo Smooth, we have two domains that go to the same page, “seosmooth.com” and “seosmoothdesign.com”

I am currently hosted with Somehostingcompany.com and would like to switch over to Seo Smooth Design Web hosting. How do I do this?

Just let us know, we will re-point and/or transfer your domain name and your existing Web site content, for $40. Once this is completed you will be notified and then you may cancel with your former provider.

Can I choose you to design my web site and use my own web hosting?

Absolutely. We will need you to provide your web hosts’ FTP information so that we can upload and work with your site.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is a fee paid either monthly, quarterly, or yearly to store the information and content of your Web site on the Internet. Usually companies will charge less for longer contracts.

What is Web site maintenance?

Web site maintenance is a monthly, quarterly or yearly fee paid to keep your Web site updated with fresh new features and content. It is good from the Web site and search engine optimization stand-point to have new content added regularly. Visitors come back, and search engines look at your site more often. If you want to maintain a Web site yourself we offer multiple ways to do so statically or dynamically.

Does Seo Smooth Design offer any type of discounts?

Yes, we offer discounts for schools and non-profit organizations with the proper credentials.

Why can’t I find my Web site in the search engines?

When your Web site is submitted to the top search engines, it could take from a day to several weeks for the search engines to actually index your Web site in their directory. This varies due to search engine and directory database update schedules. You can see when you are viewed by the search engine by viewing traffic logs and looking for visiting “spiders”, or search engine equipment.
